I'm so glad you did find it! And I'm really happy you're enjoying it; the story is a bit of a monster, a painful read, so it's always exciting to me when someone else likes it. :)
And golly, I'm blushing! Such kind words! I'll admit, I've slaved over this story, so it's really wonderful that it's being received so well. But in a lot of ways, this beastie writes itself- it's a fusion of two story ideas, and then it grew and morphed from that, into this creature. And I've learned so much from the telling. Pacing being a big one; it's hard to dole out information enough to keep the reader informed, but not enough to bog down, and still keep up the action of the plot. So wow, it's great to know that's coming across well.
And the names... you know, you're the first person to even comment on those? I'm weirdly particular about names, and how and where they're used. Oh, and Roy doesn't refer to himself as the Colonel; the story is from his POV, but not always from his headspace. But the reason for the particular names in use is the distance needed in the story. Both Roy and Ed keep a distance from themselves and each other, and I wanted to indicate that through the names. And if you notice, Roy is referred to as the Colonel more often when he's donning his masks, and Mustang when he's more emotional, or closer to the truth of himself. And there's more, but that's for later. ;)
Oh, and as far as the 'alright' goes... yeah. I do have a couple of quirks in that regard, I'll admit. 'Nevermind' is another one. Don't know why I do it, but there ya go. ;)
I can't speak to the end just now, especially since we're getting so close to it. I'm hoping it will satisfy, even if it's not what people expect. Or maybe it will be what everyone expects; I'm really not sure at this point. (I mean, I know the ending, I'm just unsure as to expectations.) But however it falls, I hope it doesn't disappoint. *fingers crossed*
